I have been using this tool from Microsoft for a couple of months now and have found it very useful. It is a social networks plugin for Outlook, just download the app (http://bit.ly/bRVDmk) and then install the plugin’s for the social networks that you use and your done. Using the Facebook plugin you get to see the Facebook profile thumbnail, if they have one that is linked to this email address, and the option to send an invite on Facebook. You also get a summary of all the email communications, making it easy to find older messages or attachments. All of this from within Outlook.
Email scams and virus’s running wild.
Please be careful using email at the moment, there are two different virus’s going around with Subject Lines of “declined deposit report” and “Scan from a Xerox WorkCentre…” I would strongly advise you to delete these messages straight away, and as the sender’s email address is always different there isn’t much point trying to block single addresses.
Users who download emails onto their computers, using clients like Outlook, Outlook Express or Windows Mail, should be using a paid anti-virus solution that scans the email messages and attachments.
It is always a good practice to save any email attachments into a folder and then scan that folder for virus’s – ensuring that that your virus protection is up to date.
